Leeds have progressed in the second round of the League Cup with a 0-1 win away at Luton Town. Tyler Denton was the hero of the hour scoring a stunning effort in the first half. Leeds will be in the draw for the 3rd round which takes place tomorrow night.

Garry Monk fielded a brand new 11 from Saturday and despite some severe pressure in the second half we rid the storm and got the result. With all the changes it was a test of character and the players have passed the test. The goal was special and may well propel Tyler Denton into the plans more than what he was.

Leeds have now won 3 of the opening 6 games, drawn 1 and lost 2. 2 of the wins have come in the cup but it also puts us in decent form going into the game at Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Monk though Leeds were “worthy winners” on the night and he will be happy that despite so many changes the players stuck at it and got the result.

Pontus Jansson was taken off with what looked like cramp but everyone else came through the game ok and Monk will have a full squad to choose from on Saturday apart from Gaetano Berardi.

Another win and another clean sheet. Below is a video of the goal, although it’s a bit blurry we will replace it when a better one is available. Some hit!

About Author

Born in Gibraltar, raised in Scotland from a very young age. Been a huge fan of Leeds United since I could walk and talk, thanks to my Dad, the English half of me. After a few years in Australia I moved to Leeds, the trips from Scotland down to the city a few times a season didn't cut it. Love the city. Love the people, and the 12 hour round trip to Elland Road is about a 20 minute round trip. Love writing about the club, the more I write the more I feel comfortable doing it. As long as it's enjoyable I'll continue to do so, keep looking to step it up and progress as well. Leeds United is more than just a football team for me, as is it with so many others.
