The possibility of Luke Murphy and Toumani Diagouraga playing for the first-team again seems extremely remote but the pair have been in competitive action tonight for the under 23’s against Bolton. The latter netted Leeds’ second as they both look to play some games before the January window where I’m sure they will want to leave the club.

The game itself sounded brilliant, for the attacking players anyway. Highly rated Eoghan Stokes scored twice, Diagouraga and Amissah got the goals in a 3-4 win. The under 23’s have had a mixed start to the season and came through the game after Bolton put up a fair fight. Luke Murphy captained the side in his first appearance since the 0-1 league cup win away at Luton Town. Diagouraga made his first appearance since the 3-0 loss at Queens park Rangers on opening day.

Other names of interest were Romario Vieira, twin brother of Ronaldo who made the bench and Amadou Haidara who started, but hasn’t yet been announced by the club. In one of the strangest transfer stories in the summer, Haidara tweeted that he had signed for the club, the club didn’t announce it and it’s not the Haidara that anyone has ever seen before…try and work that out. Gaetano Berardi was expected to play but was used in a first-team game behind closed doors earlier today.

About Author

Born in Gibraltar, raised in Scotland from a very young age. Been a huge fan of Leeds United since I could walk and talk, thanks to my Dad, the English half of me. After a few years in Australia I moved to Leeds, the trips from Scotland down to the city a few times a season didn't cut it. Love the city. Love the people, and the 12 hour round trip to Elland Road is about a 20 minute round trip. Love writing about the club, the more I write the more I feel comfortable doing it. As long as it's enjoyable I'll continue to do so, keep looking to step it up and progress as well. Leeds United is more than just a football team for me, as is it with so many others.
