Leeds United goalkeeping legend Gary Sprake has passed away today, at the age of 71. It’s very sad news and many of us never got the privilege of seeing him in action. The thoughts of everyone at Leeds United today are with the family of Gary Sprake who has sadly passed away at the age of 71
All the players, management, and staff at Leeds United sends its condolences and support to the Sprake family at this difficult time.
Gary, played over 500 times during an 11 year period for Leeds United, of which the club won the Second Division (1963-64) and First Division (1968-69) titles, in addition to the League Cup (1968) and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups (1968 & 1971).
As a mark of respect, we will be holding a minute’s applause ahead of kick-off at next Tuesday’s EFL Cup game against Norwich City.
