Leeds United youngster Lewie Coyle has bagged himself a two-year extension at the club with his deal due to run out at the end of the season. Coyle has impressed on almost every occasion he’s pulled on the shirt and the news will be welcomed by Leeds fans.
Coyle first broke into the side last season and made a big impact especially with the fans. His full hearted performances caught the imagination and he’s rarely put a foot wrong when he has played. Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi are both ahead of him at right-back but the diverse nature of his play means that he can also play at left-back. I’d have been gutted if we didn’t get this deal done.
Coyle said, “I’m delighted to sign an extension and to have committed my future to the club. I’ve had some bad news with the injury so this is definitely good news.”
“You are always fighting for that next contract so for it to be done now is a positive”.
“I feel when I broke through into the team, that I’ve taken my chance and done well. So it’s nice to be rewarded.”
“I’ve been here since the age of seven, so the thought of not being here is a daunting one! I’ve come on leaps and bounds this season, it’s great to be coached under Garry Monk and we’re looking up from here.”
