We can now add Chris Wood to the list of players who will be watching come Saturday. The club are hopeful the injury isn’t too bad but we all know how awkward hamstrings can be, with Chris Wood especially. The news comes after the striker bagged his 14th goal of a brilliant season so far.
Chris Wood smashed home the opener on Tuesday night but he won’t be doing it again on Saturday by the sounds of things. Garry Monk confirmed he is a major doubt but that he was hopeful it wasn’t as bad as first feared. It leaves Monk with a dilemma ahead of a game that we will be looking at taking maximum points from. Marcus Antonsson is fit after a back injury and Souleymane Doukara is fit and in good form, probably the most likely option.
Kalvin Phillips will return to the squad after suspension and could well start the game alongside the in-form Ronaldo Vieira after Liam Bridcutt played more than expected on Tuesday night. Pablo Hernandez is back in training but won’t make the game on Saturday. Eunan O’Kane isn’t fit and could need an operation. Wood is set for more scans the week to determine the full extent of his hamstring.
