I think it’s safe to say that Chris Wood returning for the trip to Preston is probably a must. The Kiwi striker is one of the most in-form forwards in the division and we missed him massively on Saturday. He will return to training this week with the hope of returning on Monday.

He pulled up with a tight hamstring against Reading on Tuesday after bagging his 14th goal of an excellent season. Souleymane Doukara was the man to fill the void on Saturday against Brentford. Douks does what he does but he’s better at playing in the deeper positions where he can float around and get on the ball.

Marcus Antonsson is fit again and played 15 minutes of Saturday’s win but playing up front on his own isn’t really something we’re sure about just yet. Fingers crossed Wood is fit come Monday.

About Author

Born in Gibraltar, raised in Scotland from a very young age. Been a huge fan of Leeds United since I could walk and talk, thanks to my Dad, the English half of me. After a few years in Australia I moved to Leeds, the trips from Scotland down to the city a few times a season didn't cut it. Love the city. Love the people, and the 12 hour round trip to Elland Road is about a 20 minute round trip. Love writing about the club, the more I write the more I feel comfortable doing it. As long as it's enjoyable I'll continue to do so, keep looking to step it up and progress as well. Leeds United is more than just a football team for me, as is it with so many others.
