Until the contract is officially signed and I have seen a photo I will always be slightly worried something could go wrong. However, Pontus Jansson’s agent has today confirmed that after 22 games (not the 20 we expected) Leeds have the deal in place to sign Pontus Jansson on a 3-year-deal for around £3.6 million.
His agent has finally spoken on the most anticipated deal in over a decade at Leeds United. I don’t think I’m exaggerating either when I say Jansson is the most important signing since we were relegated from the Premier League along with Jermaine Beckford. The bond between players and fans has surfaced again with an almighty potency and Jansson isn’t the only reason but he has certainly been the front of the player’s side.
He has been fantastic since arriving, his ability matching the passion and desire that seems to consume him come 3pm on a Saturday (7:45 on a Friday, 5:30pm on a Saturday, 1pm on a Sunday…Sky TV is…). If this latest news is what will happen then the deal should come after the Barnsley game as I don’t expect him to feature at Cambridge on Monday. This is a great twist to the tale, it’s just a shame another 2 games have hit us from nowhere.
The sooner the better.
