It’s that time of year again and I will be covering the transfer news and stories as they come. I will try to filter down what is ridiculous and let others talk about that. A story that has started to do the rounds via a German journalist linked with Stuttgart is that Leeds are attempting a deal for Alexandru Maxim.
Romanian attacking midfielder Maxim was rumoured to be linked a few weeks ago but the story has taken more shape today with reports Monk was looking at the player when he was in charge at Swansea. Monk certainly isn’t scared of taking unknown players to Leeds, Pontus Jansson and Marcus Antonsson both coming with little heard of the pair.
Maxim is 26 and certainly has some pedigree, making over 100 appearances for Budesliga side Stuttgart. He has also been capped numerous times by the national side and has gained a reputation for being a handful in the final third with his running and clever passing. I can’t shed too much light apart from that as I haven’t come across him during my time watching football.
Any more news on the story I’ll be sure to keep up to date.
