Garry Monk has confirmed he will make changes for tomorrow but will be putting out a side that he would expect to win the game. Cambridge United are in very good form and the players will have to be on the ball to get the result. What this game represents is a chance for players currently on the fringes to make an impression as well as getting us into the next round and keeping the momentum going.

Everytime Leeds United play whether it be against Villa at Elland Road or Guiseley in pre-season it means something. Cambridge is no different despite the FA Cup not being the priority for most clubs. It gives the opportunity to players who are looking to break into a strong first team or even make initial impressions on Garry Monk and his team. I think there will be a mixture of young players, fringe players and probably a couple of first team players in the starting team tomorrow and there’s a few who I’d like to see given the chance.

Tyler Denton – I have little doubt that Denton will start tomorrow in all honesty. Charlie Taylor is still out and Luke Ayling will probably be rested, meaning Berardi will shift to right-back. Quick and composed, very good positioning and eager to make another good impression I would guess. I believe if Taylor was to leave he is the long-term replacement at left-back for Leeds United.

Mallik Wilks – A player for the future that is already making an impression in the youth side. So much so he made the bench against Reading in the league game in December when we had injury problems. The striker is quick and powerful and has an eye for goal. I would love to see him get a chance whether it’s from the start or off the bench tomorrow.

Marcus Antonsson – I feel a bit sorry for Antonsson at the moment. He was in the team at the start of the season and score a couple of important goals but the form of Chris Wood has kept him on the bench ever since. It’s hard for him to adapt to this level and league if he isn’t playing games and that has to be a concern for the player. I would expect him to start tomorrow.

About Author

Born in Gibraltar, raised in Scotland from a very young age. Been a huge fan of Leeds United since I could walk and talk, thanks to my Dad, the English half of me. After a few years in Australia I moved to Leeds, the trips from Scotland down to the city a few times a season didn't cut it. Love the city. Love the people, and the 12 hour round trip to Elland Road is about a 20 minute round trip. Love writing about the club, the more I write the more I feel comfortable doing it. As long as it's enjoyable I'll continue to do so, keep looking to step it up and progress as well. Leeds United is more than just a football team for me, as is it with so many others.
