Bank Holiday Friday and Leeds United are heading to the biggest away day of the season. The game against Newcastle United will now take place on Friday April 14th at 7.45pm…live on Sky Sports.

Why is this one good? Well Leeds fans can head up to Newcastle early on and make a day of it, not that we don’t anyway but on a bank holiday it certainly has a different feel to it. We haven’t played away at Newcastle United away in the league in over a decade and it’s sure to be quite an occasion. Every game between now and the end of the season is huge and by the time this game comes around we will have quite a good idea where we will be come the end of the season.

Newcastle and Leeds don’t have a huge rivalry but are both very well known for their support and the travelling armies they take on away days, Newcastle more commonly in the Premier League in recent years and Leeds taking huge followings in the lower leagues, something that normally draws out a huge home crowd as well. The sides will meet in a promotion battle in a game always destined for the masses.

About Author

Born in Gibraltar, raised in Scotland from a very young age. Been a huge fan of Leeds United since I could walk and talk, thanks to my Dad, the English half of me. After a few years in Australia I moved to Leeds, the trips from Scotland down to the city a few times a season didn't cut it. Love the city. Love the people, and the 12 hour round trip to Elland Road is about a 20 minute round trip. Love writing about the club, the more I write the more I feel comfortable doing it. As long as it's enjoyable I'll continue to do so, keep looking to step it up and progress as well. Leeds United is more than just a football team for me, as is it with so many others.
