On loan winger Hadi Sacko has said his goodbyes today ahead of a return to Portugal and potentially no return to Elland Road. With the future of manager Garry Monk still up in the air there is no surprise that the loan players don’t know their future.
Sacko signed on loan from Sporting Lisbon in the summer and had a very promising start at the club. The young French winger is on a long-term deal at Sporting and was highly rated by the club when they signed him from France. Sacko has been an important player this season and has played his fair share of games, but as with most of the squad his form dipped after the turn of the year and since then he has struggled for games under Garry Monk. His unpredictable nature has helped and hindered him during his spell with the club.
In my opinion Sacko has huge potential and would be worth signing if we could agree a reasonable price for the player. His attitude is great and despite his lack of end product at times I do believe Garry Monk could really mould him if given some time to help develop the raw talent. Sacko certainly isn’t sure and has tweeted saying he isn’t sure if this is goodbye or not. I’d like to see him back at the club next season and if not then I wish him the best of luck with his career.
