It’s never good hearing that deals could be off, or their could be a “snag”, especially when it involves a player who is as important as Pontus Jansson at Leeds United. It has been revealed today that Leeds have paid Torino and the deal is done.
Jansson has signed a three-year-deal with the club that begins on July 1st but a few weeks ago Torino put an official complaint into FIFA regarding the payments that Leeds are to make. Torino were asking the question about when the first instalment should have been paid, a payment that Leeds have now made. Leeds are now confident that there will be no issue and Torino will be happy with the deal.
Jansson triggered a clause in later January that meant Leeds could pay their highest fee for over a decade to bring Pontus Jansson to Elland Road on a full-time basis. Jansson then signed a deal at the beginning of February that meant he would become a Leeds player come July 1st. There is always a worry when things are reported at Leeds as this has been very common in recent years. With the news today that Jansson will be a Leeds player come July we can begin to concentrate on other recruitment, starting with the manager…Garry Monk.
