It is beginning to feel like all of the candidates we expected for the Leeds United job are dropping out. It was Karanka and then it wasn’t, then Ranieri and then it wasn’t…Pep Clotet, Juande Ramos and then Alan Pardew, and then it wasn’t.
I’m beginning to feel like whoever is appointed will be a total shock when it comes. It has been nearly two weeks since Garry Monk departed for pastures new, where those pastures are we are not so sure but pastures all the same. Today, halfway through the week that Andrea Radrizzani said the club would be interviewing candidates two more have been all but ruled out. Claudio Ranieri’s agent has ruled his client out of the running and according to Phil Hay, the latest favourite Alan Pardew isn’t one of the candidates for the job.
It has become so ridiculous that last night Garry Monk was at 33/1 for the job. How can Garry Monk be at 33’s for the job he has just quit? There are names on the list at 12’s and higher that I haven’t even heard of and the same old names have been popping up here and there. I think we can safely say now that Andrea Radrizzani and his men are doing a fine job of doing their business properly, a nice change for the football club who normally are the last to find out what they are doing.
