Stuttgart playmaker Alexandru Maxim has once again been linked with Leeds ahead of pre-season. Maxim was linked to the club last summer and decided to stay with the German outfit. He recently said he would decide his future after his friends wedding.

Maxim is a winger or a number ten and has a very good reputation in Germany. He was handed the number 10 shirt after the club were relegated to the second tier and he started the season with a goal in the opening game. He is well known for his ability in the final third and can be described as a creative midfielder who likes to get on the ball. He has scored sixteen goals with his club in Germany and has recently helped his side win promotion from the second tier back to the Budesliga.

Maxim has scored two goals in twenty seven appearances for his national side Romania. He will be heading for pastures new this summer and there is said to be various clubs after him including Leeds and of course Garry Monk’s new club Middlesbrough. Monk was keen on Maxim but he decided to stay with Stuttgart, the North East club are expected to go in for the player and probably have an advantage with their budget.

About Author

Born in Gibraltar, raised in Scotland from a very young age. Been a huge fan of Leeds United since I could walk and talk, thanks to my Dad, the English half of me. After a few years in Australia I moved to Leeds, the trips from Scotland down to the city a few times a season didn't cut it. Love the city. Love the people, and the 12 hour round trip to Elland Road is about a 20 minute round trip. Love writing about the club, the more I write the more I feel comfortable doing it. As long as it's enjoyable I'll continue to do so, keep looking to step it up and progress as well. Leeds United is more than just a football team for me, as is it with so many others.
