According to BBC Radio Leeds and presenter Adam Pope has today revealed that the club are set to announce Thomas Christiansen on an initial two-year-deal with the option of a third, rather than the 12 month rolling contract that had been mentioned yesterday.

New managing director Angus Kinnear was keen to stress that the club saw Thomas Christiansen as a long-term replacement for Garry Monk and was the man not only to lead the club to the Premier league but to keep us there too. Although the appointment was left field as it has been described the reasons that Christiansen was appointed have slowly filtered through over the last 24 hours. After meeting Andrea Radrizzani in Madrid the Italian owner was so impressed he immediately called off the search and got to the job of appointing the ex-Barcelona man.

Christiansen gave Radrizzani a run down of the full Leeds squad, including the strengths and weaknesses of the players and where the squad needs improving. He also gave in-depth analysis of some games last season and explained what he would do different. After speaking to an APOEL fan yesterday I learned some more about the new head-coach. Christiansen will face the media on Monday afternoon for the first. time.

About Author

Born in Gibraltar, raised in Scotland from a very young age. Been a huge fan of Leeds United since I could walk and talk, thanks to my Dad, the English half of me. After a few years in Australia I moved to Leeds, the trips from Scotland down to the city a few times a season didn't cut it. Love the city. Love the people, and the 12 hour round trip to Elland Road is about a 20 minute round trip. Love writing about the club, the more I write the more I feel comfortable doing it. As long as it's enjoyable I'll continue to do so, keep looking to step it up and progress as well. Leeds United is more than just a football team for me, as is it with so many others.
