Last week Leeds announced that the club would be participating in a pre season tour of Austria, and have today added two further fixtures to the trip which begins mid July.
United’s first fixture of the tour comes against German side Ingolstadt on Sunday the 16th of July at the Kufstein Arena. The fixture is one of the two new additions to the tour, with the club previously only announcing the fixture against fellow German side Borussia Monchengladbach on the 20th July. Both games will be played at the 4,500 capacity Kufstein Arena, home to Austrian lower league side FC Kufstein, which is a multi purpose athletics facility; with the pitch surrounded by a running track.
Following the two contests in Kufstein, United will face spanish outfit SD Eibar at the Jenbach Stadium- home to SK Jenbach- on Saturday the 23rd of July; three days after the Monchengladbach game. Eibar will also prove to be a hard test for Leeds, with the side finishing tenth in Spain’s La Liga last season- two places and eight points above spanish giants Valencia. The game will conclude United’s tour of Austria and the team will fly back to England before facing League One side Oxford United at Elland Road the following weekend on Saturday the 29th of July.
All three foreign teams on Leeds’ austrian pre season tour will not be easy opposition, with both Monchengladbach and Eibar competing in the Bundesliga and La Liga respectively- with Ingolstadt being relegated from the german top flight last season finishing 17th.
