According to Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post Leeds have stepped up their bid for Macedonia winger Ezgjan Alioski in the last 24 hours. The Lugano goal machine has been on the radar for weeks, but Leeds now want to seal the deal.
It seems like the club have decided that they want some important deals done before the pre-season trip to Austria and that begins with Samu Saiz on Monday, and hopefully Elioski at some point not long after. The winger scored 16 goals in the Swiss Premier last season and wasn’t to far behind that number of assists. Atalanta and Basel are the other clubs looking to sign the player but it seems the solid interest from Leeds may trigger a deal either to the club or somewhere else. Radrizzani and Orta seem to be set on certain players and so far the targets have come off despite interest from elsewhere.
Leeds have already blown Eibar and Real Betis out of the water financially for the signature of Samu Saiz and it would be a real statement if we were to beat the other clubs interested in Alioski for his services. He is one of the best attacking players currently sitting in the Swiss league and it would be a coup of we were to bring him to the club. It would also raise up the summer recruitment which is coming along just nicely at the moment. So far Mateusz Klich, Felix Wiedwald, Madgar Gomes and Vurnon Anita have all signed up at Elland Road, and Monday is set to be a big day in the summer as Leeds look to finalise and push through deals.
