At the start of the week Phil Hay confirmed that Leeds had stepped up their pursuit of highly rated Macedonian ace Ezgjan Alioski. The Lugano winger is high on the list of priorities this summer and last night it seemed it was all but confirmed he was heading to Leeds.
You don’t have to do too much digging big on Alioski to find out what type of player he is and how highly rated he is in Switzerland. His record of 16 goals and 14 assists last season wasn’t missed by some very good sides away from Leeds United including the two main competitors for his signature, Serie A side Atalanta and Swiss powerhouse FC Basel.
Lugano published on their website that Alioski had taken part in one of his last training sessions with the club before “his move to England” giving a huge hint that his future lies at Leeds. Add to that his friend taking a photo with him last night and posting it on instagram, wishing him luck at Leeds United and you have your substance. Throw in that Alioski then liked that post and well, you see where this is going.
The figures for this deal haven’t really been discussed but the Macedonian winger could well hook up with the side before he heads out to Austria. Hopefully the deal is nearing completion and a good bulk of the business is done heading on the pre-season trip. Central defenders are hopefully on the agenda after this.
