Youngster Tyler Denton has today completed his move to Michael Brown’s Port Vale. The full back can’t play on Wednesday night against Leeds but will be available for the weekend.
Denton recently signed a new deal with the club and for me this move was a must for the youngster to see what he’s really made of. He certainly had the raw attributes to be a good full back but he isn’t ready for the Leeds first team, despite fans asking why we are effectively replacing him with Cameron Borthwick-Jackson. Borthwick-Jackson is ready to play in the Championship and Denton isn’t, so it’s a good move by the club.
Denton hasn’t featured for the club in the league despite us playing most of last season with no recognised left back. He has played some League Cup games including his debut at Luton Town last year where he scored the winner with a lovely effort. He featured in the first couple of pre-season games but Christiansen has opted to sign another and send Denton on loan.
