According to reports in Sweden Leeds are on the brink of signing 23-year-old striker come winger Pawel Cibicki from Malmo FF for a fee between one and two million. They are also reporting a four-year-deal for the player, but this hasn’t been confirmed locally.
The striker is often used as a left sided winger and would maybe be coming into the side to play in that role of the three behind the striker, also giving an option to play in the forward line. His goal record doesn’t make for great reading, eleven in fifty seven for the Swedish high-flyers. Cibicki spent a season on loan in 2016 and scored ten in twenty six before returning to Malmo where he has been playing since. The deal would be another from the European market, but it’s similar to the deal that saw Marcus Antonsson join the club and we know that he couldn’t get up to the speed and physical side of the Championship.
Pontus Jansson may know about the players, a huge fan of the Swedish club, actually pictured there earlier today having a drink with friends before attending the game, a game that Cibicki didn’t start in which wouldn’t have been the case if he was fit, which he is said to be. It was then followed by reports in the local Swedish media that a deal has been agreed with Leeds, a surprise given that the main target was Rudy Gestede, a player who is rated at around £6 million my Leeds United. It’s very hard to argue with any Victor Orta signing after what he has done already at the club. We have to stick by his decisions now, he’s earned it.
