Another article that I will probably publish and another one where I will be wrong. I think it’s got to the point where Thomas Christiansen has to shake things up massively. A change in formations and some fresh faces into the team is a start. We are on a dreadful run and the win against Bristol City was backed up by one of the worst performances this season.

My XI – (3-4-2-1)

GK – Andy Lonergan – The number one now but he seriously has to work on his kicking. We need to be able to have variety when playing out from the back, Lonergan has to adapt to what way the game is going and the other night he didn’t. Good with the basics though.

RCB – Conor Shaughnessy – I would 100% bring back in the Irish youngster. He hasn’t put a foot wrong since his error on the opening day and the defence is shambolic at times currently. The other three have all been having bad games and Shaughnessy deserves to start.

CB – Pontus Jansson – Hasn’t been playing well but neither have the others. I thought he did well when he came ion last night and he needs to rediscover his form for us to have any chance of getting back to winning ways. One of first names on the team-sheet tomorrow.

LCB – Liam Cooper – Cooper is perfect for this left-sided role but he needs to pick up his performance levels for the game. I haven’t felt like he has been a leader the last few games and he has hid slightly when we need our captain to go full blood and thunder.

RWB – Luke Ayling – Having a very poor spell and has cost us in a couple of games recently. He was out of position for the goal from Brooks and it was a very similar goal that Ayling was at fault with as Barrow scored the winner for Reading.

LWB – Stuart Dallas – Will want to get back to playing football after events in the last couple of weeks and he is one who deserves to be in the side at the moment. Has been very good this season but needs a run in the side. This role would suit him perfectly.

DM – Eunan O’Kane – Needs to up his game and get back to dictating games on the ball. Such an important player but it just feels like games are passing him by at the moment. Klich will want to be playing but O’Kane has to start performing.

DM – Ronaldo Vieira – Wasn’t great against Sheffield United but the effort was there. If he can control the game like he did against Bristol City we have a huge chance of winning the game. Tom Huddlestone will need attention and Vieira has to pressure him.

CAM – Pablo Hernandez – There is no way I would be playing Alioski after his performance on Friday but he may well play anyway. Hernandez does more than Alioski is doing and I don’t think he is playing well either. We need players who want to get on the ball, Pablo just needs to be better on it.

CAM – Samu Saiz – He needs help, our best player and our key player in every game.

ST – Kemar Roofe – Our top scorer in the striking area, and only second overall behind Saiz I can’t see why Lasogga should start after what I saw the other night. If he does then he needs to seriously lift it because it was one of the worst in terms of effort and commitment I have seen in a while.

About Author

Born in Gibraltar, raised in Scotland from a very young age. Been a huge fan of Leeds United since I could walk and talk, thanks to my Dad, the English half of me. After a few years in Australia I moved to Leeds, the trips from Scotland down to the city a few times a season didn't cut it. Love the city. Love the people, and the 12 hour round trip to Elland Road is about a 20 minute round trip. Love writing about the club, the more I write the more I feel comfortable doing it. As long as it's enjoyable I'll continue to do so, keep looking to step it up and progress as well. Leeds United is more than just a football team for me, as is it with so many others.
