Leeds are closing in on a deal to sign highly rated West Bromwich Albion striker Tyler Roberts. The 19-year-old travelled to Leeds last night and passed his medical according to Sky Sports and Phil Hay.
Roberts was linked with a move to Marseille earlier in the month but it looks like the move to Leeds will be done soon, the player certainly has bags of potential if not lots of experience. To be fair to him he’s been on loan at both Shrewsbury and Wallsall so he wants to play football, and he is now stepping down from the Premier League, not always common in today’s game.
Leeds will have signed 3 first-team players in the window once Roberts gets over the line. Laurens De Bock arrived from Club Brugge and Adam Forshaw from Middlesbrough and it will take the January spending to around £9 million, more than we have ever spent in this window. An announcement is expected on Roberts soon, the club seem to have pushed this one on in the last 24 hours.
