Leeds have announced that the deal for Tyler Roberts is now completed. The striker has decided to leave West Brom despite the offer of more money and joking Leeds. The club have released the following via the official website.

“Leeds United are delighted to announce the signing of forward Tyler Roberts from Premier League side West Bromwich Albion.

An exciting talent, Roberts, who turned 19 years-old earlier this month, joins the Whites for an undisclosed fee.

The forward has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year deal at Elland Road, running until the summer of 2022.

Roberts made his debut for the Baggies in the 1-1 Premier League draw with Liverpool back in May 2016.

Since making his debut at The Hawthorns, Roberts has had temporary stints at Oxford United and Shrewsbury Town, gaining valuable first team experience.

This season, Roberts has spent the first half of the campaign with Sky Bet League One outfit and fellow Black Country outfit Walsall, scoring five goals in 19 appearances for the Saddlers.

Roberts has also been capped by Wales at youth level, with five caps and one goal for the Under-21 side.

The forward will add further competition for places in United’s final third as the Whites look to push for the Play-Offs in the second half of the season.

He could make his Whites debut in Saturday’s Championship clash with Cardiff City at Elland Road.“

About Author

Born in Gibraltar, raised in Scotland from a very young age. Been a huge fan of Leeds United since I could walk and talk, thanks to my Dad, the English half of me. After a few years in Australia I moved to Leeds, the trips from Scotland down to the city a few times a season didn't cut it. Love the city. Love the people, and the 12 hour round trip to Elland Road is about a 20 minute round trip. Love writing about the club, the more I write the more I feel comfortable doing it. As long as it's enjoyable I'll continue to do so, keep looking to step it up and progress as well. Leeds United is more than just a football team for me, as is it with so many others.
