A midweek clash between two sides well out of form and it showed from the first minute until the last. Hull were easily the better side and I think they were very poor so it shows how bad things got on the night. After playing with two up front for 30 minutes and looking as good as we have been this season in any game against Millwall, Thomas Christiansen reverted to his 4-2-3-1. Predictable, boring and a head-coach who looks out of ideas. Garry Monk was pulled apart by Leeds fans for having no plan b…Thomas Christiansen is a carbon copy in that sense.
Felix Wiedwald – 8 – #PASMOM – Tells you a lot really. If he didn’t pull off three very good saves with his feet we would have been talking about a heavy defeat. The best was at the end, somehow keeping out Frazier Campbell.
Stuart Dallas – 6 – I will rate him as if he played the full game because he basically did. Played out of position but clearly Thomas Christiansen sees him playing here more than on the wing. Did a good job, often pinned back and will probably start there on Saturday if Pennington isn’t fit.
Gaetano Berardi – 7 – The best of the defenders on the night for me although none had a bad game. For a player to play out of position for the majority of the game I thought he did very well. Seemed to settle Jansson down as well after Shaughnessy’s early error shook us.
Pontus Jansson – 7 – The defence had far too much work to deal with and Jansson was his usual self getting rid of most things that came into the Leeds penalty area. His distribution was poor, as was the full defence, just lumped it every time.
Laurens De Bock – 6 – Solid and looked like he is more than capable at this level. Struggled to show what he can bring going forward last night because the players going forward couldn’t get on or hold the ball at any point of the game.
Ronaldo Vieira – 4 – My favourite player at the club but he was well off the pace last night. Couldn’t pass the ball and only occasionally won it back.
Adam Forshaw – 7 – The best of the players away from the back 5 and an encouraging debut. Many fans asked why we needed another midfielder and it’s simple, we can’t keep the ball. The only player to keep it last night was Forshaw, 84% pass accuracy, higher than any other Leeds United player.
Gjanni Alioksi – 4 – There are some who like Alioksi because of what he could be rather than what he is. Last night he was very poor again. Gave the ball away, ended up on the floor time and time again and his delivery and create play were feeble. To many off days for this lad. He will now be judged next season, he has much to do.
Kemar Roofe – 4 – I wasn’t sure where Roofe was playing last night but it wasn’t pretty. A player I admire but his touch and hunger to win the ball back let him down massively last night. Very disappointing. Should have been played up front with Lasogga.
Pablo Hernandez – 5 – What I liked about Hernandez last night was that he kept trying to get on the ball. Others hid but he kept going and although he didn’t play well I was impressed with his attitude.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga – 6 – Lasogga wasn’t the issue last night. I thought he worked hard and when he actually got the ball he linked it up quite well. Had one chance, he made it himself and he almost scored from 25 yards out.
Conor Shaughnessy – N/A – I know he started but only lasted 2 minutes.
Hadi Sacko – 5
Pawel Cibicki – N/A
