A game on paper we should win, a game we need to win in all honesty and a game where the players need to end this horrible run of results. The thing is Bolton will see this is a very winnable game as well, they will be looking at this as the perfect chance to get three points on the board away from home in a bid to save their Championship status.
GK – Baily Peacock-Farrell – The youngster has been impressive since coming into the side and it’s fair to say he probably won’t lose his place in the side this season. He made his debut for the Northern Ireland under 21’s and kept a clean sheet as well, only good for his confidence.
RB – Gaetano Berardi – The obvious choice. I would like to see him get forward but Bolton’s threat is down the flanks, we can’t allow them to put in early balls and the full-backs are key for stopping the Bolton wingers higher up the park.
CB – Pontus Jansson – Has had a lot to say about the club during the week, his future and now the treatment of Pawel Cibicki which he said is political in the fact he can’t get into the side. We need a big performance, he captained Sweden on Tuesday night.
CB – Liam Cooper – Matthew Pennington hasn’t been great at all in Cooper’s absence and for me neither are the answer going forward. Cooper the safer of the two for me and can go through spells where he raises his game, hopefully a few weeks out means he’s ready to go again.
LB – Tom Pearce – Laurens De Bock is out longer term which gives Tom Pearce the chance to keeping getting first-team exposure. Had an up and down game on his debut and will likely be faced with Sammy Ameobi tomorrow, Bolton’s biggest threat.
RW – Gjanni Alioksi – Needs to get at Bolton early because they can be shaky away from home. If they get on top of us then they will grow in confidence and that’s when Alioksi will drift out of the game, we’ve seen it too many times this season.
CM – Ronaldo Vieira – It’s time to bring him back in. Eunan O’Kane isn’t doing it at all, Phillips has been in and out and not impressing, a run of games for Vieira who has just been on international duty with the England under 20’s, maybe he rediscovered his confidence.
CM – Adam Forshaw – Has been the best player since he arrived but yet to taste the winning feeling in a Leeds shirt, it’s a strange old game.
LW – Pablo Hernandez – To be fair, Adam Forshaw has serious competition for the best player this year, from Pablo Hernandez. Key player tomorrow.
FW – Samu Saiz – Paul Heckingbottom has said he is at 95%, that’s good enough for me.
ST – Pierre-Michel Lasogga – The German striker will probably start and hopefully he can get some goals in the next few games.
