A game that we needed to win and one, in the end we should have won by more. Bolton aren’t a bad side, not great by any means but they have a couple of players on their books who cause problems, and the rest are just steady Championship players. For ten minutes they looked like they would get a point before we regained control of the game.

Baily Peacock-Farrell – 7 – Didn’t put a foot wrong again and didn’t have a great deal to do. Bolton’s one shot on target that caused a problem was in the back of the net in a flash, no stopping it. Kicking and handling very good and seems to have given the defenders some extra confidence.

Stuart Dallas – 7 – Played out of position but played very well. Got stuck in, maybe overly so at times but his eagerness to get to the ball was evident. As the game went on he defended better, one lapse almost cost an equaliser but it was headed wide.

Pontus Jansson – 8 – Solid today. Headed almost everything that came into the area, at the end he battled with Wilbraham but didn’t give him a sniff of goal. Better with the ball today, kept it and looked for balls into the midfield rather than long ball.

Matthew Pennington – 7 – Best game he’s had in a while and he needed it. Adam Le Fondre didn’t really get into the game, when he did score it wasn’t Pennington who was meant to be marking him anyway. Cooper has torn a muscle in his thigh so Pennington is set for a longer run in the side.

Gaetano Berardi – 7 – The defence were all pretty good today and Berardi looked better than he has for a while. Captained the side again in the absence of Liam Cooper.

Gjanni Alioski – 7 – His form dipped until recently but I have seen more of what I think will make him a player who Leeds can look to more next season in the last few weeks. Decision making isn’t always great, direct and worked hard today.

Ronaldo Vieira – 8 – #PASMOM – We’ve needed the Ronaldo Vieira back that we all know he can be and for the first time in a long time he was there today, and it was a good job because O’Kane is really struggling. Powerful, good with the ball and bullied the Bolton midfield at times.

Eunan O’Kane – 5 – Confidence just seems non-existent. He gave the ball away too many times today, not just under pressure but easy passes.

Pablo Hernandez – 7 – Did well to get the goal and his battling and passing was evident again.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga – 5 – Struggled to get into the game but his presence allowed Ekuban to run the channels and cause problems. Should have scored a header but didn’t really have a clear chance.

Caleb Ekuban – 7 – Best I’ve seen Ekuban and hopefully the miss won’t worry him too much. His work rate was infectious and he took his goal very well. If we can get him a partner who can stay between the posts as such, he’s the perfect player to do the rest.

About Author

Born in Gibraltar, raised in Scotland from a very young age. Been a huge fan of Leeds United since I could walk and talk, thanks to my Dad, the English half of me. After a few years in Australia I moved to Leeds, the trips from Scotland down to the city a few times a season didn't cut it. Love the city. Love the people, and the 12 hour round trip to Elland Road is about a 20 minute round trip. Love writing about the club, the more I write the more I feel comfortable doing it. As long as it's enjoyable I'll continue to do so, keep looking to step it up and progress as well. Leeds United is more than just a football team for me, as is it with so many others.
