A horrible game for Sky Sports which is probably why we’re on. A trip to London tomorrow while everyone else has already played today on Easter Monday. Not only that but we travel to the most in-form side in the division and probably one of the most in-form the in country. There is nothing to lose, we need to play the counter attack against a superior footballing side and make sure we are tight between the lines.

GK – Baily Peacock-Farrell – Has been very good since breaking into the team under Paul Heckingbottom, a gamble that has certainly paid off. I guess the longer term vision is for players to break into the side and Peacock-Farrell is the current example. Will be a busy boy at the Cottage.

RB – Stuart Dallas – I though bar one lapse in concentration on Friday he was very good. The issue here is that Ryan Sessegnon will be up against him and the youngster possesses some pace and tricks that Dallas won’t enjoy. A lot of the game will depend on keeping his quiet, Alioksi important.

CB – Pontus Jansson – Last ditch defending probably on the cards tomorrow and Jansson will be, of course the one leading that fight. I get the feeling all isn’t quite right in the Jansson camp at the moment, he clearly doesn’t like the way the club went on the pitch this season. Left the pitch without clapping the fans on Friday, again.

CB – Matthew Pennington – With the ball at his feet and time to think, it’s not pretty. Chuck balls into the area and give him something to throw himself in front of, much better. Tomorrow may actually suit Pennington.

LB – Gaetano Berardi – We have little options. The other way we could play is having Pearce at left-back and Berardi at right-back but throwing Pearce into a game like this probably won’t happen at it’s for the best. Berardi needs to organise that back four, captain after all.

RW – Gjanni Alioski – Such an important player tomorrow night At one stage of this season he was the most frustrating player, but he’s turning it around under Paul Heckingbottom. He is an outlet at the moment and he’s doing what a winger should, running at people and getting shots and crosses in.

CM – Kalvin Phillips – I’m pretty sure Eunan O’Kane will start the game but I don’t really understand what he’s brining to the table at the moment. I’d start Phillips in the middle, he is at least capable of big tackles in games like this, it will be a tough day against some of the best central midfielders in the division. As far as we know Forshaw is still injured.

CM – Ronaldo Vieira – His return was timely to say the least and his performance showed exactly what we’ve been missing. Tomorrow is a very tough game, someone needs to make sure that Tom Cairney is closed down as soon as he gets within range. Vieira the man for the job.

LW – Pablo Hernandez – Having a head like Hernandez will be important in a game like this. We need players to be brave on the ball and hold it up when they have it, Hernandez has been that man this season. Releasing the likes of Alioski and Ekuban will also be important.

CAM – Samu Saiz – I think Hecky will toy with the idea of playing two up front which means Saiz doesn’t play, there’s the issue we have because we have our best player who doesn’t fit into our most effective system, a 4-4-2 which looked much more effective on Friday. Saiz can win you the game, he plays tomorrow for me.

ST – Caleb Ekuban – The debate rages on about Caleb Ekuban but a counter attacking team doesn’t play with Lasogga, you use the pace of Ekuban and you release him as early as you can. His work rate is second to none.

About Author

Born in Gibraltar, raised in Scotland from a very young age. Been a huge fan of Leeds United since I could walk and talk, thanks to my Dad, the English half of me. After a few years in Australia I moved to Leeds, the trips from Scotland down to the city a few times a season didn't cut it. Love the city. Love the people, and the 12 hour round trip to Elland Road is about a 20 minute round trip. Love writing about the club, the more I write the more I feel comfortable doing it. As long as it's enjoyable I'll continue to do so, keep looking to step it up and progress as well. Leeds United is more than just a football team for me, as is it with so many others.
