No such thing as a banker in the Championship, we’ve learned that in the last few years and we’ve always known as Leeds United fans that anything is possible. Derby would tell you that, the Rams were on the end of a 1-4 thumping a few weeks back at the hands of The Black Cats and we will have to work very hard for the points tomorrow.
GK – Baily Peacock-Farrell – Such an impressive start to his first prolonged spell as Leeds United goalkeeper. A lot of criticism for Heckingbottom but this was a great call, and we all wondered if it would be or not.
RB – Stuart Dallas – He’s been playing well at right-back to be fair and there isn’t many options anyway. Gaetano Berardi into centre-back unless Paudie O’Connor starts and Berardi continues at left-back. Playing Tom Pearce again seems like the best option.
CB – Gaetano Berardi – It’s a tough call, do you play under 23’s skipper O’Connor or do you allow Pearce his second start. The only thing I would worry about is Aiden McGeady on the wing against Pearce. Berardi is a good centre-back in my eyes, in this situation anyway.
CB – Pontus Jansson – Had a lot to say yesterday and it was good to hear the honesty. Jansson knows his form isn’t great but yet again he’s getting a makeshift partner, whoever it may be.
LB – Tom Pearce – As I said above, I do worry that McGeady would be directly up against Pearce tomorrow, it makes me toy with the idea of playing O’Connor. The fact that Pearce has played a game already and keeps making the bench gives him the edge.
RW – Gjanni Alioksi – Has been playing well recently, turning into a decent outlet for the side. Didn’t have a great game at Fulham but has been playing well at Elland Road in recent times.
CM – Ronaldo Vieira – The best player by a mile in the last two games and we need another performance like that tomorrow.
CM – Kalvin Phillips – I thought Phillips did well on Tuesday night, we didn’t get overrun in the middle of the park against one of the best midfields in the division. Had his best game of the season in the Sunderland away game earlier this season.
LW – Pablo Hernandez – Didn’t have his best night on Tuesday but he’s our most consistent player at the moment and he should be able to get at Sunderland.
FW – Samu Saiz – From the most frustrating player on the pitch to the best in a heartbeat, the Fulham game was the perfect example. We need him to have a good game from start to finish.
ST – Pierre-Michel Lasogga – Always wants to prove a point when he’s been dropped, I fancy him to give John O’Shea a horrible afternoon tomorrow. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Ekuban and Lasogga in a front two.
