In 1994, my hair was black and long. I was going through my moshing phase and moving more towards grunge than anything. I ended up having it undercut and plaited into tiny plaits. It was my first year at Uni; innocent times. It was also the year that Leeds United had the green and blue Thistle Hotels away shirt.
They say that you can never take back years. Marty McFly and Doc Brown proved them wrong. Now it is the turn of Leeds United and Adidas to do that.

Take a look at that away kit, won’t you? Take a good look at it! Those of you around in ’94 ask yourself one question – have we time-travelled? Why? Well, that shirt sported there by Gjanni Alioski is a throwback to 1994. I’m not sure what you think looking at that and reading these words but please don’t form too big a lynch-mob as I can’t run that fast now. I like it.
OK, it’s not yellow/blue/a combination but it is a simple understatement and a nod to the past. It’s not breaking too much with tradition like last season’s platinum and pink away kit (although whoever thinks that is ‘platinum’ needs a Dulux colour chart). I liked last season’s shirt; I like this season’s more.
Throwback to ’94? Go on then. Here’s my card; take my money! Just one question – why is Alioski being sensible?
