No-one likes us, we don’t care! Actually, just done that but it seems that Leeds United going all Sir Francis Drake and sacking Cadiz (well, in this case Valencia) has ruffled a few Spanish plumas and set the gato amongst los palomas.
It seems that after Spanish politician Manolo Mata got all uppity and took umbrage, that football periodista Alberto Edjogo-Owono is going down the same path:
Rodrigo Moreno al Leeds. El delantero de la selección española se va a un recién ascendido en Inglaterra.
Para coger perspectiva: es como si Harry Kane ficha por el Elche.

Here’s a translation of what ol’ Alberto is griping about: “Rodrigo Moreno to Leeds. The forward of Spain’s national side is going to a recently promoted side in England. In order to get perspective: It’s like Harry Kane signing for Elche.”
Strong words there from the Spanish reporter who works across the mediums of Radio and TV and is based in Barcelona. Elche is a side in the Valencia region and have just been promoted to La Liga after winning the La Segunda playoffs and are looking to bring in Diego Maradona to manage them next season.
It’s more than a bit of a slight to compare Leeds United to Elche but I think that Alberto knows that. It’s a right proper dig in the ribs is that. It’s his way of saying that Leeds United aren’t that big and that Rodrigo is taking un paso atras in his football career.
Well, all I can say to that is that we are Leeds United and nobody…oh, wait, did that last time.
What I’d actually like to say is that I’d 8-2 be a Barcelona fan right now and Munchen on my tapas.
