According to Sun reporter Alan Nixon, there is one big obstacle blocking Leeds United from landing Ryan Kent and it is something that the Whites are now crystal-clear on:

Kent is well-liked by Marcelo Bielsa who sees him as an instant fit into the system of play at Elland Road that he has cultivated over the last two seasons. The interest in the Gers Kent is concrete with a bid of £10m being put down as a marker by the West Yorkshire giants.

If it was a marker, then it was non-permanent and was dismissed by the Gers who are determined to hold on to their former Liverpool winger. United wasn’t put off by that rejection and there were said to be some overtones of the Whites going back in with an offer and a clear marker that they would double Kent’s wages with a move to the Premier League.

Website 90MIN.com said that Kent had told Rangers that he wanted a shot with Leeds United in the Premier League. Some might have thought this an admission of wanting to leave but it wasn’t. Rangers are still standing strong in terms of Kent’s position at Ibrox.

However, as Nixon points out if Alfredo Morelos leaves, then Kent is staying. This is probably not the last heard of this set of events.
