Leeds United put out a somewhat scratch side on Tuesday against a Stoke City side already in their stride and playing competitive games. It was a game intended to get minutes into the legs of the Whites players. It was also a 3-0 loss for the Whites at the Brittania Stadium.
You shouldn’t read too much into that game but you can read a lot into the following game bearing in mind that it will be just a week before the Premier League season starts. You can also say that it will be a stronger side that is put out; a more ‘Premier League side.

Pacos Ferreira finished in 13th in Portugal’s Liga NOS which is the top tier of Portuguese football. In finishing there, they were only six points or two defeats clear of the relegation places. It should be a good run-out against a top-tier, continental outfit.
They are no mugs, no FC Gherdeina so don’t be expecting a shedload of goals hammered past them. One to look out for is Brazilian forward Tanque who wore the 99 shirt last season and smashed 11 goals in a low-scoring outfit.
It is likely to be the final game that Marcelo Bielsa’s steeds play before their baptism of fire against Liverpool in what will be an opening clash pitting champions against champions.
