It used to be a palaver for Leeds United fans when it came to transfers and hunting out players. Dealings seemed to take on a life of their own and almost self-morph into a saga of their own accord. Rodrigo Moreno and Robin Koch kind of blunted that tradition.
Not Rodrigo de Paul though. Oh no, no Rodrigo de Paul.
That particular snippet of transfer ‘interest’ seems to be ready to take on a life of its own. Udinese midfielder de Paul has been busy on social media this weekend liking Leeds United tweets and tweets from fans. It could all be a big game that he is playing, some form of personal fun being had.
Then there’s this.
Gli 1️⃣1️⃣ in campo contro il #Venezia

For the second game running, midfielder de Paul has not been named in the Udinese squad. Cue in-brain sirens for many Leeds United fans. Coupled with ‘liking’ social media posts, this omission from the matchday squad is, to some Leeds fans, akin to the Argentinian putting pen to paper and inking his name on a long-term deal.

Are we obtaining the services of Rodrigo De Paul or what? This man would fire us to Champions League glory

It does seem more than a little strange that a player who was one of the focal points of the Udinese side last time out in Serie A has missed a second game in succession. That’s usually the practice adopted when a player is in negotiations and nearing a move. Could that be the reason here? Could Rodrigo de Paul be nearing a move to Leeds United?
If he saw the pulsating game against Liverpool on Saturday, he might just be on a plane to England right now!
