Last week it was revealed by numerous outlets that Leeds had linked up with Spanish second division side Cultural Leonesa to form a feeder system- where the Liga 123 side would help to improve United youngsters by giving them regular first team football whilst on loan from Elland Road, to prepare them for upcoming seasons at Leeds.

With the partnership only just being formed, thanks to the links between Leeds’ board member Ivan Bravo and Cultural Leonesa, it is reported that Leeds are set to swoop for 22 year old Real Valladolid attacking midfielder Toni Villa and loan his straight back to Spain with Leonesa.

According to Spanish outlet Pujela Fichajes, Leeds initially submitted a €300,000 bid in for Villa- which was way below Valladolid’s evaluation. The report then continues to state that following further talks between the two clubs, Leeds are willing to meet the €4.5million buy out clause of the player; who will be immediately be sent out to Cultural Leonesa on loan, where he has also played in the past.

Despite Villa climbing the youth ranks at Valladolid, he was allowed to join Cultural Leonesa on a free transfer in 2016- however rejoined his boyhood club less than a month ago for around €50,000. After scoring eight goals in 40 appearances last season for Leonesa, they are desperate to have the 22 year old back at the club- but through Leeds’ fundings.

The newly formed link between Leeds and Leonesa has come through board member Ivan Bravo, who owns Qatar based firm Aspire Academy- who play a huge part in running the Spanish second tier side. It is expected that many loan deals between the two clubs will occur in the not too distant future, with exciting youngster Toni Villa expected to be the first.
