New Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has revealed in an interview with the BBC that he has “already committed to an investment of £100 million, and wants to bring this club back to where they deserve”.

The 42 year old became 100% owner of the club in May of this year, and has already bought back Elland Road as well as invested around £15million into the current playing squad- which would have been unheard of under previous owners Ken Bates, GFH and Massimo Cellino. As well as putting his money where his mouth is, the Italian has also implemented a strong backroom staff at the club which consists of a large scouting network and board member Ivan Bravo- who was previously at Real Madrid.

Also in the interview, Andrea explained his aims and objectives for the upcoming season; “This year we need to finish in the top six. I think we don’t need to be worried, we can compete at the top.”. Last season Leeds finished seventh, one place and five points outside the play-off positions, but this time round Radrizzani clearly wants to go one better.

The media mogul has also indicated that he is at the club for the long run, stating that; “We’re building a project. We need time. Rome wasn’t built in a day. If we dont make it this season, we’ll work harder next season.”. He goes on to say that; “I know if Leeds stay in the Premier League comfortably for 2 or 3 seasons, we will become a massive club that will finish in the top 10 or top 8,”.

Leeds departed from the top flight in the 2003/04 season, and the upcoming season will be the 14th consecutive campaign the Premier League. However, ambitious new owner Radrizzani believes that the Whites will return back sooner rather than later- and after the positive impact since his arrival just three months ago, fans are starting to believe that Andrea is the man to finally take us back to where we all know Leeds United should be.
