Eunan O’Kane is the latest in a line of players to get a new deal from Andrea Radrizzani. The Irish international has penned a 4-year-deal with the Whites, meaning he will now be here until at least 2021 if he sees out his contract.
O’Kane, a hardworking and enthusiastic player signed from Bournemouth last summer, just after the season had started. He quickly made a mark on the team and was a key player in the engine room for the side as Garry Monk took us into the play-off positions by the end of the year. O’Kane then suffered injury and it’s fair to say that he was missed.
Once he came back into the fold he simply wasn’t used. Monk stuck with a failing team and didn’t play O’Kane, something that the player admits he found very frustrating. O’Kane has worked his way to the front of a strong queue in his position this summer and he has started the season as the number one choice in the heart of the midfield, a key part of the way Thomas Christiansen wants to play.
I will be writing an article on how crucial I think it is that O’Kane has signed a new deal and how I feel he is a key part of the further at Leeds United. It should be available tonight.
