Benik Afobe

Afobe was a Championship sensation for Wolverhampton Wanderers in his 12 months spell at the club, when he made a £2million move from Arsenal in the 2015 January transfer window. After scoring 22 goals in 46 appearances at Wolves, the player attracted serious Premier League interest and eventually made a switch to Bournemouth, for then a club record fee of £10million. After making the step up to the top flight, Afobe has struggled to make the impact he would have wished for in the Premier League and has found the net on 10 occasions during 44 appearances. With the continued competition from Callum Wilson as well as the arrival of Jermain Defoe the DR Congo international may struggle for game time at the Vitality Stadium, and may be limited to substitute appearances.

With this in mind, Bournemouth may be tempted to let Afobe go if a reasonable offer came in from Leeds- and with the club receiving £15 million for Wood there is no reason to suggest that a high offer isn’t possible. Although it is thought that the 24 year old would be on a high wage in the Premier League, and one that Leeds may not be able to afford.
