It appears that one more new player arrived through the door last night at Leeds United. Forward Oliver Sarkic joined from Benfica and will presumably link up with the ever-expanding youth side, the impressive recruitment has seen players from a number of Europe’s elite join this summer.
Adam Underwood won’t know what’s hit him this summer. The head of the academy told the clubs website that the club can now attract players from across the world, a prime example is the Bulgarian superkid Kun, who joined from Barcelona on a three-year-deal and has already scored three goals in two games before linking up with the national side. He isn’t the only youth international and he is now joined by a Montenegro youth international, Oliver Sarkic, who joined from Portuguese giants Benfica last night has already linked up with the Montenegro side despite the late move.
Sarkic is very highly rated and it is unclear as to how long he has signed for but we can expect his name to pop up in the under 23 reports given his reputation. The youngster was actually born in London so is eligible to play for the national side but so far he hasn’t taken up that option. The under 23’s play at Elland Road tonight and it gives us the chance to see the progress under the new head-coach. Victor Orta and Adam Underwood have been very busy this summer and the next few years more are expected to arrive and it is certainly worth keeping an eye on some of these European and local talents coming through the door at Elland Road.
