Oliver Sarkic has today tweeted that he is flying into the UK and that only means one thing, his move to Leeds is about complete. I say about because Sarkic headed straight for international duty after leaving Benfica and he seems set to arrive in Leeds imminently.
The 20-year-old striker is set to join on loan for six months, most probably with a view to a longer term deal if things go well at Leeds United. he has a very good chance of making things work at the club. He will be playing with the likes of Kun, Adrian Balboa and Ouasama Siddiki who have all arrived during the summer. He will also have an experienced head-coach in Carlos Corberan who has been at the likes of Villarreal and will want to make sure we see what Sarkic can do in his six month loan deal at the club. Andrea Radrizzani has funded the new scouting led by Victor Orta and alongside Adam Underwood and Ivan Bravo the youngsters have been coming through the door on a regular basis in recent times.
Leeds got the deal done on deadline day and it is a coup in reality, the player is very highly rated and has been linked with many of Europe’s top clubs. Sarkic was actually born in England and was eligible to play for England but so far has chosen to play for Montenegro where he currently represents the under 21’s where he has found the net a few times in seven appearances. The news was greeted with a very good response by Leeds fans and finding out who we have got on our books is the next task, a front three of Barcelona, Benfica and Real Madrid signings in the under 23’s is a mouth-watering prospect and one that is very possible in the coming weeks and months.
