Another big game, they keep coming and this isn’t the last, Brentford, Boro and Wolves are all coming in the next couple of weeks. After the drama on Sunday afternoon Leeds will surely head south full of confidence but we face one of the best sides in the division, a side with a wonderful home record and Rowett will have them pumped for the run-in this season. We have a few familiar faces back after suspension.

GK – Felix Wiedwald – Made a horrible error for the opener against Bristol City but did make a couple of good saves afterwards. Not the long-term answer but has been consistent until that game, wouldn’t surprise me to see Lonergan start in all honesty.

RB – Vurnon Anita – I am a firm believer that if you play well you should keep your place and Anita had a good game against Bristol City, didn’t put a foot wrong and actually showed some areas of his game where we haven’t seen before, aggression and attacking intent.

CB – Pontus Jansson – Had a horrible first-half against Bristol City, got ragged around by the Bristol forward line but ended up holding the fort as the side went forward late on, back to winning the headers against Flint from set-pieces.

CB – Liam Cooper – I just don’t think Matthew Pennington has done enough to keep his place in the absence of Liam Cooper. I also don’t think Cooper is the answer at centre-back but he’s more consistent and safe than Pennington who has looked very shaky.

LB – Laurens De Bock – Started well under Christiansen but he seems a little bit off the pace since the arrival of Heckingbottom. Needs to lift his game again, ended the game very strong going forward on Sunday.

CM – Adam Forshaw – If we do go with the 4-3-3 which I think we will set up with away from home then it’s a midfield three and Forshaw is the key whether it’s three or two. A class above in the middle at the moment, will be desperate to get his first win.

CM – Ronaldo Vieira – I don’t think he’s been fit for some time, and that has shown in his performances. There is only so long he will sit out and Eunan O’Kane can play as bad as he is. Was voted 20th in the best 50 young players in Europe today.

CM – Pablo Hernandez – This isn’t in the number 10 role it’s playing with the other two from deeper. As things have got tough he’s the one who has stepped up for the side and in the middle of the pitch he can get on the ball and drive us forward.

LM – Samu Saiz – Pablo Hernandez has been playing off the left and it’s almost a free role so Saiz is perfect for it. I have a feeling he may not start but I would play him without a doubt, the best player at Leeds United and we need him to produce the goods.

RM – Stuart Dallas – I actually think Hadi Sacko might get the start tomorrow and I wouldn’t mid that because I think he made a positive impact when he came off the bench on Sunday but I think Dallas needs some time in his natural position again.

ST – Pierre-Michel Lasogga – Scoring goals again and looking a constant threat. One of the best goals to games ratio in the league. Need to give him the service because chances won’t be coming around much.

About Author

Born in Gibraltar, raised in Scotland from a very young age. Been a huge fan of Leeds United since I could walk and talk, thanks to my Dad, the English half of me. After a few years in Australia I moved to Leeds, the trips from Scotland down to the city a few times a season didn't cut it. Love the city. Love the people, and the 12 hour round trip to Elland Road is about a 20 minute round trip. Love writing about the club, the more I write the more I feel comfortable doing it. As long as it's enjoyable I'll continue to do so, keep looking to step it up and progress as well. Leeds United is more than just a football team for me, as is it with so many others.
