A sicking blow at the end of the game after we had managed to get in front at Pride Park not once but twice. Overall we didn’t deserve much from the game but it has to be admired that we were minutes away from beating one of the best sides in the division away from home. As was said last night by various people, mistakes and communication will only improve when we sign better players.
Felix Wiedwald – 3 – Not good enough, didn’t help Cooper for the second and looked unsure all night.
Gaetano Berardi – 5 – Not his best night by any stretch of the imagination but certainly wasn’t awful.
Pontus Jansson – 7 – Carried the defence for most of the night. Must be sick of the players playing alongside him in all honesty.
Liam Cooper – 3 – At fault for first goal, along with De Bock and although Wiedwald didn’t help him for second he is the captain of this team, defenders should know what’s around them, that’s the difference between this season and last season. He will not get us where we need to be.
Laurens De Bock – 3 – One of the worst performances I’ve seen from a Leeds player this season. Looked well off the pace and out of his depth.
Stuart Dallas – 7 – Worked very hard to close down Derby despite having little success and got his assist for Lasogga’s goal which was a beauty. Put tackles in all over the park, more than any other Leeds player.
Ronaldo Vieira – 4 – Very poor game. Seemed to lose his whole focus after he had been booked and was scared to put in challenges. Touch, passing was off and his form has dipped significantly. Nice to see Heckingbottom get him after he came off and fill him with encouragement. Proper man-management.
Adam Forshaw – 7 – Worked so hard and for me should be the captain of the side, leads by example and kept the ball when we were under pressure. Did get caught cold early on a couple of times, carried Vieira who was well off the pace.
Pablo Hernandez – 5 – Didn’t really get into the game last night for me, ended up injured which isn’t ideal but hopefully back soon. Just wasn’t a game he could influence last night.
Kemar Roofe – 3 – Did he even touch the ball? Really needs to up his game.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga – 7 – Another goal for the German striker. Got no service apart from that, certainly pulling his weight now. Doesn’t offer much else but goals are goals.
Samu Saiz – 8 – #PASMOM – The best player on the pitch when he arrived and it shows how much we’ve missed him. Man of the match despite only playing less than a an half.
Kalvin Phillips – 5 – Didn’t really do much but looked better than Vieira in that roll, expect him to start on Saturday.
Gjanni Alioksi – 6 – Got lucky with the bounce in reality but got the goal which is all that matters. Has a point to prove after being dropped for the last two games.
