Elland Road is expected to have a bumper crowd for the Good Friday clash against Bolton Wanderers. The club announced a deal a few weeks ago that season ticket holders could bring a friend for free, and it would seem like many are taking up the offer.
The offer doesn’t just go for Leeds fans, it extends to the away fans and we are looking at one of the biggest away attendances of the season, even at slightly under 3,000. The away fans have been an issue this season because they won’t travel here in numbers with the price of tickets. Leeds fans will pay through the nose for tickets wherever or whenever the side are playing but that isn’t the case with many clubs, the core of the fanbase at Leeds has always been strong and in big numbers, it’s hard to criticise other clubs for not having such numbers because it is what it is. In all fairness nobody should be paying the prices that Leeds are charging, both home and away fans and it should be addressed. 35k with lower prices is better than 25k at higher.
The season ticket renewals probably aren’t going very well, how do we know this? Because there has been no update, last season it was all over social media that we were selling great numbers, we’ve not had a peep this year and you need only go on social media and threads about season tickets to realise how many fans have chosen not to renew their tickets. The summer is now huge for Andrea Radrizzani because the only thing that will now increase season tickets is a good transfer window. If we go out and get some players to get fans excited then they will probably decide to buy, but if not we may see a seriously reduced number for next season.
