A strange night at Craven Cottage was summed up in around 16 seconds. A missed chance at one end, Caleb Ekuban the man to fluff his lines, followed by the swiftest of counter attacks finished by Mitrovic, game over. Fulham controlled the first-half but the second was more even Leeds actually created the better chances. Between Grot and Ekuban we missed the chance to get back into the game and it serves us right after the way we started.

Ratings

Baily Peacock-Farrell – 6 – For me he maybe could have done better with second, he fell backwards rather than dived but he’s doing very well at the moment.

Stuart Dallas – 5 – Struggled early on but grew into the game. Playing out of position so doing as best he can.

Matthew Pennington – 6 – Didn’t do much wrong at all, went off injured.

Pontus Jansson – 6 – He cuts a frustrated figure right now. Had a decent game but lost Mitrovic for the first goal.

Gaetano Berardi – 6 – Had a decent game, coped better than Dallas with the wide players and won headers. Couldn’t do anything about the goals. Lovely link-up play to get Ekuban in for the chance.

Ronaldo Vieira – 8 – #PASMOM – Best player in a Leeds shirt on the night. Won the ball back time and time again and looked the one who was interested and up Fulham. The midfield of the London side struggled, Cairney could really influence the game throughout and that was down to Vieira.

Eunan O’Kane – 5 – Went off injured, didn’t do much right or wrong before that.

Gjanni Alioski – 5 – Didn’t do much, lost a fair tackle in first-half and made a huge deal about it, Leeds fans don’t take well to that when the opponent clearly won the ball. Maybe we should go in like that more?

Samu Saiz – 7 – Lost the ball countless times and yet created two very good chances with moments of magic, that’s why he gets a higher rating. He really needs to hold onto the ball better at times though. Extremely frustrating.

Pablo Hernandez – 6 – Worked hard but struggled to get into the game throughout. We didn’t get him on the ball enough and his chance was from a free-kick, a very good effort.

Caleb Ekuban  – 4 – Work rate fantastic but when it all boils down to it, he had the chance and had no conviction whatsoever, and it cost us the game.

Subs

Kalvin Phillips – 6 – Actually looked decent when he came on, the Fulham midfield weren’t outstanding at all.

Jay-Rot Grot – 3 – Had his chance, messed it up.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga – 5 – Got away from his man once and was brought down in horrible fashion.

About Author

Born in Gibraltar, raised in Scotland from a very young age. Been a huge fan of Leeds United since I could walk and talk, thanks to my Dad, the English half of me. After a few years in Australia I moved to Leeds, the trips from Scotland down to the city a few times a season didn't cut it. Love the city. Love the people, and the 12 hour round trip to Elland Road is about a 20 minute round trip. Love writing about the club, the more I write the more I feel comfortable doing it. As long as it's enjoyable I'll continue to do so, keep looking to step it up and progress as well. Leeds United is more than just a football team for me, as is it with so many others.
