Since signing for Leeds United, Pontus Jansson has firmly entrenched himself as a fan favourite at Elland Road.
His first season, partly on loan from Torino, was a revelation insofar as the giant Swede made the Championship Team of the Season. This was on the back of some solid and dependable performances alongside Kyle Bartley.
There was a drop the season after, but no more so that the rest of the Leeds United side who flattered to deceive at times, before falling away sharply.
This season though, this season has seen Jansson rise back to the imperious centre-back that Leeds United fans had gotten used to. His swagger is back, and his defending is back to that uncompromising level where opponents find him difficult to player against.
However, for some such as Keith Andrew commenting for Sky TV, this isn’t enough. Despite being a big part of why Leeds United are at the top of the table, Andrews (below) thinks that the Whites are better without him.
Dear Keith (know idea who you are😂), i try my best to help my teammates and play good football for my club, if you have any advice how I can be good enough in your eyes I’m ready to listen…🤙

Jansson is very quick to fire back and in a more than suitably sarcastic tone. Against Derby County last night, Jansson was solid at the back, and marshalled the team well in his new role as a ball-playing defender. In fact, such is his comfort on the ball, it allows him to do the following:

Jansson’s tweet was bound to, of course, receive some attention from Leeds United fans; that is exactly what happened. Here’s some of the replies to Pontus Jansson’s tweet.

God help him Pontus. You’re a top player and he’s a hater who doesn’t like people succeeding

I think Keith Andrews used to be a children’s TV presenter or something like that. Did he have a stuffed animal on his arm or helped out on the Krankies maybe? Sorry, can’t remember him properly
