That phrase, ‘taking your bat and ball home’, it’s pretty much a standard one, isn’t it? You know, from the playground when you were kids. You didn’t let little Danny win at ‘Knock Out Wembley’ or ‘Headers and Volleys’ so he took his football home in a sulk. It is playground days, right?
Just that I got a little confused that I was nine again and back in my council estate where I grew up, playing football at the stone bus shelter on the end of the road that always stank of urine. That was 40 years ago, times have moved on. Or so you’d think.
#bhafc will not sell Ben White – or any other player – to #lufc, whatever price is offered. Brighton see Leeds as a direct rival, and so won’t help strengthen them. Leeds had third bid of £25m turned down last week, and will now search elsewhere for a new CB.

Not according to Sky Sports Rob Dorsett (above) regarding Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion. The Seagulls are having a proper hissy fit over Leeds United’s pursuit of Ben White. Three bids from the Whites for the player they helped to create: £18m, £22.5m and £25m and all knocked back.
Now Brighton, or so it seems, have got the proper hump goiing on what Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports writes. I know that he is paraphrasing but the gist of it, the sentiment is pretty much bang on. It goes something like this:
*adopts nasal tone: “We don’t like you. It’s not fair you keep pestering us. We are taking our ball home with us.”
To their credit, Leeds United are like ‘OK, you do that’ and then move on to other targets. Like you do when you act in a mature manner.
