Things are certainly picking up on the Leeds United transfer front, that’s if the rolling stones of transfer reports coming out of Spain are to be believed. First there’s news that Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta are over there negotiating a deal for Spaniard Rodrigo then and update from Adam Pope with some particulars.
Now there is this.
Rodrigo Moreno se marcha de la Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna
— ONDA DEPORTIVA (@ODValencia) August 25, 2020
Translation of the tweet is: “Rodrigo Moreno leaves Paterna Sports City [Valencia’s training facility]. Negotiation underway for sale to LUFC. Today he trained alone.”
Leeds United’s deputation of Radrizzani and Orta are in Valencia and they are negotiating hard with the powers-that-be at the Mastella. AS’ article says that Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta “are in Valencia to close the agreement with the club” as they pursue Valencia’s talented, Brazil-born Spain international. Rodrigo has been at the Mestalla since a £27m move from Benfica in July 2015.
Valencia, a side said to be in financial trouble by BBC Radio Leeds’ Adam Pope, are looking for around €40m/£36.1m for the former Spain international. Leeds do not have it all their own way though, Atletico Madrid are also thought to hold a degree of interest in the Valencia striker.
It seems that the pace is picking up in this particular deal. After all, it is very rare that a player trains alone and leaves a club’s training facilities other than as a form of punishment. This move for Rodrigo could be happening, fingers crossed.
