Excuse me here, but I used to have an image of ‘Little’ Lee Johnson struggling to climb out of the dugout at Ashton Gate. Now that Bristol City has let him go, that nightmare is no longer there. Now Bristol City are back on my mind with news that they are keen on former Leeds United starlet Tom Pearce.
Bristol City. Keen on left back Tom Pearce at Wigan. Known to Holden and his coaches.

Pearce came through the youth ranks initially at Premier League side Everton before switching to a similar role with Leeds United in 2014. He broke through to the Whites first-team at the start of January 2018.
Pearce went on to make 10 appearances (1 goal) for Leeds United in 2018/19, before being loaned out to League One side Scunthorpe where he made 9 appearances, scoring 1 goal for The Iron.
He only made 8 appearances for the Latics last season, creating 1 assist. His debut for Wigan came in their 1-0 win at Elland Road against the Whites on New Year’s Day. He also has a run of games in the Qigan squad after the lockdown was lifted.
Johnson’s replacement at Ashton Gate is his former assistant Dean Holden who, with his coaching staff are aware of what Tom Pearce would bring to the Robins. The former Leeds United starlet promised a lot on his breakthrough with the Whites; that breakthrough could be explored more at Bristol City, so it seems.
