As Cyndi Lauper said, “So don’t be afraid to let them show, your true colours” and Huddersfield Town boss Carlos Corberan is doing just that at that club just west up the M62.
He’s not grabbed a handful of talented youngsters from the Whites on loan, nope. Although there are no signs of Ouasim Bouy or Jay-Roy Grot, he’s not taken any Leeds United loose baggage. Yet, with the following tweet, it is clear that the Whites influence is getting an airing at the John Smith’s Stadium:
😅 Introducing a typical Wednesday session… 'Murderball'

It’s the best ‘tip o’ the hat’ to Leeds United and Marcelo Bielsa that Corberan has incorporated ‘Murderball’ into the training regime at the John Smith’s. That inclusion of Bielsa’s high-octane press-style training is surely better than any compliment given by taking on a loan player or two.
Corberan is still learning the managerial ropes, so-to-speak. He had three seasons of experience at Leeds United with the Under-23s and really rose to the top. However, aside from that you ned to go back to his time in Cyprus and two very short spells managing sides over there.
In truth, Huddersfield were pretty awful last season and it was the end of the Cowley brothers. Corberan might have lost his first game of the season against relegated Norwich City but the display the Terriers put in was much better. It’s obvious that Corberan’s grounding at Elland ROad under Marcelo BIelsa has served him well.
Let’s see how his players cope with Murderball sessions.
